Brewing Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all the ingredients including finely ground Turkish coffee, water, and sugar if desired.
- 2
Measure the Water
Use a small pot (cezve or ibrik) to measure 150 ml of cold water.
- 3
Add Coffee
Add 2 tablespoons of finely ground Turkish coffee into the pot with water.
- 4
Add Sugar
If you prefer sweet coffee, add 1 teaspoon of sugar to the mixture.
- 5
Mix Ingredients
Stir the mixture gently to combine the coffee and sugar with the water.
- 6
Heat the Mixture
Place the pot on low heat and allow the coffee to heat slowly. Do not stir after this point.
- 7
Watch for Foam
As the coffee heats, watch for foam to form. This is a crucial step in brewing Turkish coffee.
- 8
Remove from Heat
Once you see the foam rising, remove the pot from the heat just before it starts to boil.
- 9
Serve the Coffee
Pour the coffee into small cups, allowing the foam to settle on top. Do not stir the coffee once poured.
