Toppings

Method

Prepare the Filling

  1. 1

    Cook the Ground Beef

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Mix in Refried Beans

Add the refried beans to the skillet with the cooked beef. Stir until well combined and heated through.

  3. 3

    Prepare Vegetables

Chop the lettuce and dice the tomatoes. Set aside for assembly.

Make the Burrito Sauce

  1. 4

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small saucepan, combine tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

  2. 5

    Heat the Sauce

Simmer the sauce over low heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assemble the Burritos

  1. 6

    Lay Out Tortillas

Warm the flour tortillas in a microwave or on a skillet until pliable.

  2. 7

    Fill the Tortillas

Spread a generous amount of the ground beef and refried bean mixture onto each tortilla. Top with lettuce and diced tomatoes.

  3. 8

    Roll the Burritos

Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll tightly from the bottom up to enclose the filling.

Bake and Serve

  1. 9

    Prepare for Baking

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the rolled burritos seam-side down in a baking dish.

  2. 10

    Add Sauce and Cheese

Pour the burrito sauce evenly over the burritos, then sprinkle with Colby cheese.

  3. 11

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  4. 12

    Serve

Serve the burritos hot with rice and extra refried beans on the side.
