Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Preparing the Patty

  1. 1

    Mixing the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Use your hands to mix until just combined; do not overmix.

  2. 2

    Forming the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Patty

  1. 3

    Grilling the Patties

Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip them and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 4

    Preparing the Toppings

While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato into thick rounds.

  2. 5

    Building the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or skillet. On the bottom half of each bun, layer the lettuce, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, and then cover with the top half of the bun.
