Burger Patty

Toppings

Buns

Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the burger patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, cut the burger buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Add BBQ Sauce

Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the heat and brush each patty generously with BBQ sauce.

  3. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a burger patty, followed by a handful of onion rings. Top with the other half of the bun.
