Method
Crust
- 1
Prepare the crust
In a food processor, crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl and combine it with the cookie crumbs until the mixture resembles wet sand.
- 2
Form the crust
Press the cookie crumb mixture evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan. Make sure it's compact for stability.
- 3
Bake the crust
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the crust for about 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
Filling
- 4
Mix the filling
In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the peanut butter and powdered sugar, and mix until well combined and creamy.
- 5
Fold in the Cool Whip
Gently fold the Cool Whip into the peanut butter mixture until fully incorporated.
- 6
Add chocolate chips
Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the filling.
- 7
Fill the crust
Pour the peanut butter filling into the cooled Oreo crust and spread it evenly.
Topping
- 8
Add toppings
Drizzle chocolate syrup over the top of the pie and sprinkle with chopped peanuts as desired.
- 9
Chill the pie
Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours, or until set. This will allow the flavors to meld and the filling to firm up.
