Mushrooms

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Mushrooms

Rinse the fresh button mushrooms under cold water and gently pat them dry with a paper towel. Remove the stems if desired, but whole mushrooms can also be used.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading Stations

Set up three shallow dishes for the breading process: one for flour, one for beaten eggs, and one for breadcrumbs. In the flour dish, mix in salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Breading the Mushrooms

  1. 3

    Bread the Mushrooms

Dip each mushroom first in the flour mixture, ensuring it is fully coated. Shake off any excess flour. Next, dip it into the beaten eggs, allowing excess egg to drip off. Finally, roll the mushroom in the breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere well.

Frying

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accurate measurement.

  2. 5

    Fry the Mushrooms

Carefully add the breaded mushrooms to the hot oil in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried mushrooms and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve Hot

Serve the fresh fried mushrooms immediately while hot and crispy. They can be enjoyed on their own or with your favorite dipping sauce.
