Add Garlic
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Deglaze with Wine
Pour in the dry white wine, scraping the bottom of the pot to deglaze it. Allow the wine to reduce for about 5 minutes.

Add Broth and Seasonings
Add the beef broth, thyme, bay leaf, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes.

Prepare Croutons
While the soup is simmering, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread the baguette slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 10 minutes or until golden brown.

Ladle the hot soup into bowls or cups. Top each serving with a handful of toasted croutons and a generous amount of shredded Swiss cheese.
