Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients needed for the cheese steak sub including the lean beef, cheddar cheese, sub roll, and French fries.

  2. 2

    Cook the French Fries

Cook the French fries according to the package instructions or fry them in hot oil until golden brown and crispy.

Cooking the Sub

  1. 3

    Grill the Beef

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Season the lean beef with salt and pepper (optional). Grill the beef for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.

  2. 4

    Melt the Cheese

Once the beef is cooked, place the cheddar cheese on top of the beef and cover it for 1-2 minutes to allow the cheese to melt.

  3. 5

    Toast the Sub Roll

While the cheese is melting, slice the sub roll in half and toast it on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  4. 6

    Assemble the Sub

Place the grilled beef with melted cheese inside the toasted sub roll.

  5. 7

    Serve

Serve the cheese steak sub hot with a side of French fries. Add mayonnaise to the sub if desired.
