Jasmine Rice

Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Shrimp

In a bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure the shrimp are evenly coated. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove from heat and set aside.

Jasmine Rice Preparation

  1. 3

    Rinse the Rice

In a fine-mesh sieve, rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch.

  2. 4

    Cook the Rice

In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed jasmine rice, water, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and simmer for 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
