Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Beef

Start by preparing the beef. Place it in a pot of boiling water and cook for about 10-12 minutes or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove the beef from the pot and let it cool.

  2. 2

    Slice the Beef

Once the beef has cooled, slice it thinly against the grain and place it in a large mixing bowl.

  3. 3

    Prepare Vegetables

Thinly slice the red onion and lemongrass, and add them to the bowl with the sliced beef.

  4. 4

    Mix Ingredients

Add the roasted rice powder, chili powder, fish sauce, lime juice, and fresh mint leaves to the beef mixture. If using, chop the cilantro and add it as well.

Serving

  1. 5

    Combine and Adjust Seasoning

Toss all the ingredients together until well combined. Adjust seasoning with more fish sauce or lime juice if needed.

  2. 6

    Plate and Serve

Serve immediately on a platter, garnished with extra mint leaves if desired. Nua Nam Tok is best enjoyed fresh.
