Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Mixing Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing until a dough starts to form.

  2. 2

    Kneading

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 3

    Combining Ingredients

In a bowl, mix the ground pork or chicken (or vegetables), green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Assembling Dumplings

  1. 4

    Rolling Dough

After the dough has rested, divide it into small pieces (about 1 inch in size). Roll each piece into a thin circle, about 3 inches in diameter.

  2. 5

    Filling Dumplings

Place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal tightly.

Cooking Dumplings

  1. 6

    Steaming Method

In a steamer, add water and bring it to a boil. Place the dumplings in the steamer basket, making sure they do not touch each other. Steam for 15-20 minutes.

  2. 7

    Pan-Frying Method (optional)

Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the dumplings in the skillet and fry until the bottoms are golden brown. Then, add water (enough to cover the bottom of the skillet) and cover with a lid. Let it steam for 10-12 minutes until cooked through.
