Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta and set aside, reserving a cup of the pasta water.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Reduce the heat to low and add the heavy cream to the skillet. Stir well to combine and allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add the cooked fettuccine to the sauce and toss to coat.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese and Season

Gradually mix in the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring constantly until melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  5. 5

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat and fold in the fresh basil leaves. Serve the pasta hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and basil if desired.
