Walleye Fillets

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tartar Sauce

In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, chopped pickles, lemon juice, and cooked bacon. Mix well and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Walleye

In one bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. In another bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, salt, and black pepper. Dip each walleye fillet first into the egg mixture, then coat it in the cornmeal mixture.

  3. 3

    Fry the Walleye

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the coated walleye fillets, cooking until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Fries

Cook the frozen French fries according to package instructions. Season with salt to taste.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the crispy walleye fillets with bacon tartar sauce on the side, alongside the French fries.
