Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground chuck and ground brisket. Form the mixture into four equal patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.

  2. 2

    Cook the Burgers

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the skillet and smash them down gently with a spatula. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, then flip the patties.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese

Once flipped, place a slice of gouda cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, allowing the cheese to melt.

  4. 4

    Toast the Buns

While the burgers are cooking, toast the brioche buns in a separate pan until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun, followed by a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato (sliced), the cheeseburger patty, a tablespoon of onion jam, and the top half of the bun.
