Strawberry Shortcake Hot Fudge Ingredients
Method
Preparation Instructions
- 1
Make the Strawberry Biscuits
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the heavy cream until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 2
Shape and Bake
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times. Pat it into a 1-inch thick rectangle and cut into squares or circles. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
- 3
Prepare the Strawberries
While the biscuits are baking, toss the sliced strawberries with a tablespoon of sugar (optional) and let them sit to release their juices.
- 4
Make the Whipped Cream
In a mixing bowl, combine the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whip until soft peaks form.
- 5
Assemble the Dish
Once the biscuits are baked, split them in half. Layer fresh strawberries and strawberry sauce on the bottom half, then add a generous dollop of whipped cream. Top with the other half of the biscuit.
- 6
Serve
Drizzle additional strawberry sauce on top and serve immediately.
