Crispy Cauliflower

Method

Crispy Cauliflower

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cauliflower

Remove the leaves and stem from the cauliflower head and cut it into bite-sized florets.

  2. 2

    Make the Batter

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and ground black pepper. Gradually whisk in cold water until you achieve a smooth batter.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Cauliflower

Dip the cauliflower florets into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off. Carefully place them into the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry until golden brown and crispy, approximately 4-5 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Garlic Aioli

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic, and lemon juice. Mix well until smooth and set aside.

  6. 6

Prepare the House Peppadew Hot Sauce

In another small bowl, mix the chopped Peppadew peppers and hot sauce together until well combined.

  7. 7

    Prepare the Green Onions

Thinly slice the green onions and set them aside for garnish.

  8. 8

    Serve

Arrange the crispy cauliflower on a serving platter. Drizzle with garlic aioli, sprinkle with sliced green onions, and serve with the house Peppadew hot sauce on the side.
