Method

Meatballs Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Meatball Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, egg, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a plate.

Cooking Meatballs

  1. 3

    Brown Meatballs

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Brown them on all sides for about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.

Tomato Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté Onion and Garlic

In the same skillet, add the finely chopped onion. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes. Stir in oregano, salt, black pepper, red wine vinegar, and sugar. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Combine and Cook

  1. 6

    Simmer Meatballs in Sauce

Return the browned meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for about 15-20 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce is thickened.
