Method

Preparation

1

Clean the Squid

Rinse the fresh squid under cold water and remove the innards and skin. Cut the squid into rings or strips as desired.

2

Chop Vegetables

Finely chop the garlic cloves and red bell pepper.

3

Prepare Chickpeas

If using canned chickpeas, drain and rinse them under cold water. If using dried chickpeas, soak and cook them beforehand.

Cooking

4

Sauté the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and red bell pepper, sautéing until the vegetables are softened, about 3-4 minutes.

5

Cook the Squid

Add the cleaned squid to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they turn opaque.

6

Add Wine and Chickpeas

Pour in the white wine and add the cooked chickpeas. Stir in the paprika, salt, and black pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes until heated through.

7

Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
