Cooking the Pasta

Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.

Cook the Spaghetti

Add spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente.

Drain the Pasta

Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti and set aside.

Making the Sauce

Heat Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Sauté Garlic

Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, sautéing for about 2 minutes until fragrant.

Add Cherry Tomatoes

Stir in the halved cherry tomatoes and cook for 5-7 minutes until they soften and start to burst.

Combine with Pasta

Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet along with the reserved pasta water. Toss to combine, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Season

Add chopped fresh basil, salt, and black pepper to taste. Toss well to combine.

Serving

Divide the pasta among serving plates.
