Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Squid

Begin by cleaning the fresh squid. Remove the head and innards, and rinse the squid under cold running water. Pat dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Chop Garlic and Parsley

Finely chop the garlic cloves and the fresh parsley. Set aside for use in the cooking process.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 4

    Sauté Garlic

Add the chopped garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant but not browned.

  3. 5

    Cook the Squid

Add the cleaned squid to the skillet. Cook for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the squid is opaque and cooked through.

  4. 6

    Season the Dish

Sprinkle in the red chili flakes, sea salt, and black pepper to taste. Stir well and cook for another 1-2 minutes.

  5. 7

    Finish with Parsley and Lemon

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped parsley. Squeeze the juice of the whole lemon over the squid and toss to combine.

Serving

  1. 8

    Serve with Bread

Serve the cooked squid hot, accompanied by slices of crusty bread for dipping.
