Serving Garnish

Method

Prepare Cheese Mixture

  1. 1

    Mix the Cheeses

In a mixing bowl, combine goat cheese and cream cheese. Use a fork or a hand mixer to blend until smooth and well combined.

  2. 2

    Add Flavorings

Stir in the chopped chives, minced garlic, black pepper, and salt. Mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Prepare Puff Pastry

  1. 3

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).

  2. 4

    Roll Out Puff Pastry

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheets to fit your baking dish. You can use a rectangular or round dish based on preference.

  3. 5

    Fill Pastry with Cheese Mixture

Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.

  4. 6

    Fold and Seal

Fold the edges of the pastry over the cheese mixture to form a border. Brush the edges with the beaten egg to seal.

  5. 7

    Egg Wash

Brush the top of the pastry with the remaining beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake and Serve

  1. 8

    Bake

Place the prepared puff pastry on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

  2. 9

    Prepare Garnish

While the pastry is baking, chop fresh herbs and halve the cherry tomatoes.

  3. 10

    Serve

Once baked, remove from oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with fresh herbs and cherry tomatoes before slicing and serving warm.
