Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Chop the Vegetables

Finely chop the onion, garlic, bell pepper, and jalapeño. Dice the tomatoes.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Cook the Pork

In a large pot over medium heat, add the ground pork and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  2. 3

    Add Vegetables

Add the chopped onion, garlic, bell pepper, and jalapeño to the pot. Sauté for another 5 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened.

  3. 4

    Season the Mixture

Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes to toast the spices.

  4. 5

    Combine Liquids

Pour in the beef broth and tomato sauce, then add the diced tomatoes. Bring the mixture to a boil.

  5. 6

    Simmer

Reduce the heat to low and let the chili simmer uncovered for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Chili

Ladle the chili into bowls and top with cheddar cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onions as desired.
