Tiramisu Directions
- 1
Prepare the coffee
Brew a strong cup of coffee and allow it to cool. If desired, add coffee liqueur to the coffee.
- 2
Make the mascarpone mixture
In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and fluffy. Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- 3
Soak the ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee for a few seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- 4
Assemble the layers
In a rectangular dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- 5
Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- 6
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and garnish with grated dark chocolate.
