Preparation
Prepare the Coconut
Using a sharp knife, carefully open the whole coconut. Reserve the coconut water for drinking or other uses, and scoop out the coconut meat for garnish.
Add Bitters
Add 2 dashes of Jamaican #1 Bitters to the mixing glass.
Stir the Mixture
Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir the mixture until well chilled, about 30 seconds.
Strain into Glass
Strain the cocktail into an old-fashioned glass filled with fresh ice.
Garnishing
Garnish with Coconut
Garnish the drink with a slice of the reserved coconut meat, or if desired, use the shell of the opened coconut as the glass for a tropical presentation.
