Tea Base

Tapioca Pearls

Method

Preparing the Tea Base

  1. 1

    Brew the Black Tea

In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons of black tea leaves. Let it steep for 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Sweeten the Tea

After steeping, strain the tea into a separate container to remove the leaves. While the tea is still warm, add 2 tablespoons of sugar and stir until fully dissolved. Let the tea cool to room temperature.

Cooking the Tapioca Pearls

  1. 3

    Boil the Tapioca Pearls

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 cup of tapioca pearls to the boiling water. Stir gently and cook for about 30 minutes, or until the pearls are soft and chewy.

  2. 4

    Rinse the Pearls

Once cooked, drain the pearls and rinse them under cold water to stop the cooking process. You can sweeten the pearls with a little sugar syrup if desired.

Assembling the Bubble Tea

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a glass, add the cooked tapioca pearls at the bottom. Pour in the cooled black tea, followed by 1 cup of milk or non-dairy milk.

  2. 6

    Add Flavoring

Mix in 2 tablespoons of your preferred flavor syrup. Stir well to combine all ingredients.

  3. 7

    Serve with Ice

Add ice cubes to the mixture to chill. Serve with a wide straw and enjoy your refreshing bubble tea!
