Method

Marinate Beef

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, sesame oil, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Beef

Slice the beef sirloin into thin strips and add it to the marinade. Ensure all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

Cook Rice

  1. 3

    Rinse the Rice

Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.

  2. 4

    Cook the Rice

In a pot, combine the rinsed rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 15 minutes or until water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.

Sauté Vegetables

  1. 5

    Prepare the Vegetables

In a skillet over medium heat, add a splash of oil. Once hot, add the sliced bell pepper, julienned carrot, and broccoli florets. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes or until vegetables are tender-crisp.

Cook Beef

  1. 6

    Stir-Fry the Beef

In a separate skillet or wok, heat a little oil over high heat. Add the marinated beef strips and stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.

Assemble the Bowl

  1. 7

    Combine Ingredients

In serving bowls, add a scoop of jasmine rice, top with sautéed vegetables, and then the stir-fried beef. Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and cilantro.
