Clams

Method

Preparing the Clams

  1. 1

    Clean the Clams

Rinse the topneck clams under cold running water to remove any sand or debris. Use a brush if necessary to scrub the shells.

  2. 2

    Open the Clams

Using a clam knife, carefully insert the knife into the hinge of each clam and twist to open. Discard any clams that do not open.

Making the Butter Mixture

  1. 3

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter until fully liquefied.

  2. 4

    Add Flavors

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in minced garlic, chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.

Baking the Clams

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 6

    Arrange the Clams

Place the opened clams on a baking sheet, making sure to keep them in their shells. Spoon the butter mixture generously over each clam.

  3. 7

    Bake the Clams

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the clams are heated through and the tops are slightly golden.

Serving

  1. 8

    Plate the Clams

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the clams cool slightly. Transfer the clams to a serving platter.

  2. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish with fresh parsley leaves and serve with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the clams.
