Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Rinse the Faroe Island salmon fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Slice the lemon into thin rounds and mince the garlic cloves. Set aside the fresh dill and minced garlic.
- 2
Season the Salmon
Place the salmon fillets on a cutting board. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper. Lay the lemon slices on top of the fillets and sprinkle the minced garlic and fresh dill over them.
Cooking
- 3
Prepare the Steamer
Fill a pot with about 1-2 inches of water, making sure the water level is below the steamer basket. Bring the water to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
- 4
Steam the Salmon
Once the water is simmering, place the steamer basket over the pot and arrange the seasoned salmon fillets in a single layer. Cover the pot with a lid. Steam the salmon for about 10-12 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- 5
Serve
Once cooked, carefully remove the salmon from the steamer basket. Plate the fillets and garnish with any remaining fresh dill and lemon slices. Serve immediately.
