Brisket Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Brisket
Rub the brisket with Worcestershire sauce. In a small bowl, mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Coat the brisket evenly with the spice mixture.
- 2
Smoke the Brisket
Place the brisket in a smoker at 225°F (107°C) and smoke for about 1 hour per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).
- 3
Rest the Brisket
Once cooked, wrap the brisket in foil and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
- 4
Prepare Beef Broth
In a saucepan, heat the beef broth over medium heat until warmed. This will be used to moisten the brisket if needed when assembling the sandwich.
Slaw Preparation
- 5
Mix Slaw Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and carrots. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss to coat.
- 6
Chill the Slaw
Cover the slaw and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Assembly
- 7
Slice the Brisket
After resting, slice the brisket against the grain into thin slices.
- 8
Assemble the Sandwich
On each artisan bun, layer slices of brisket, a generous portion of slaw, and top with fresh jalapeños. Optionally, you can drizzle some beef broth over the brisket for added moisture.
- 9
Serve
Serve the smoked brisket sandwiches immediately and enjoy!
