Oysters

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Serving Plate

Spread a layer of rock salt evenly on a serving plate. This will help stabilize the oysters and prevent them from tipping over.

  2. 2

    Shuck the Oysters

Using an oyster knife, carefully insert the blade into the hinge of each oyster. Twist the knife to pop open the shell and slide the knife along the top shell to cut the muscle. Remove the top shell and ensure the oyster remains in the bottom shell with its juices.

  3. 3

    Arrange the Oysters

Place the shucked oysters on the prepared plate, resting them on the rock salt to keep them steady.

Serving

  1. 4

    Prepare the Lemon

Cut the lemon in half or into wedges for easy squeezing. You can place the lemon halves or wedges on the serving plate alongside the oysters.

  2. 5

    Add Hot Sauce (Optional)

If desired, provide hot sauce on the side for guests who would like to add a bit of spice to their oysters.

  3. 6

    Serve Immediately

Serve the oysters immediately after shucking to ensure they are fresh and enjoyed at their best. Guests can squeeze lemon juice over the oysters before consuming.
