Oysters and Sauce

Sourdough

Method

Prepare the Oysters and Sauce

  1. 1

    Clean the Oysters

Rinse the fresh oysters under cold water to remove any sand or grit. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Sauté Garlic

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  3. 3

    Add Oysters

Add the cleaned oysters to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they begin to open.

  4. 4

    Add Cream and Chili Sauce

Pour in 1 cup of heavy cream and 1 cup of chili sauce. Stir to combine, then season with salt and black pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer for 5 minutes until heated through.

  5. 5

    Finish with Parsley

Stir in 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley and remove from heat.

Prepare the Sourdough

  1. 6

    Toast the Sourdough

Brush 4 slices of sourdough bread with 2 tablespoons of olive oil on both sides. Toast in a skillet or on a grill until golden brown and crispy.

Serve

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

Divide the oyster and cream mixture among serving bowls. Serve with toasted sourdough slices on the side for dipping.
