Mussels

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Clean the Mussels

Rinse the mussels under cold running water to remove any sand or debris. Discard any mussels that are open and do not close when tapped.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves.

  3. 3

    Chop the Parsley

Finely chop the parsley leaves for garnish.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Sauté the Garlic

In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

  2. 5

    Add the Mussels

Add the cleaned mussels to the pot and pour in the white wine. Stir to combine.

  3. 6

    Cook the Mussels

Cover the pot and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the mussels open up. Discard any mussels that remain closed.

  4. 7

    Make the Cream Sauce

Reduce the heat to low and add the heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Stir gently to combine and let simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  5. 8

    Serve

Ladle the mussels and creamy sauce into bowls and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
