Crust Preparation

Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix Crust Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted unsalted butter. Mix until well combined and the mixture resembles wet sand.

Form the Crust
Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie pan to form an even layer.

Bake the Crust
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly.

Pour Filling into Crust
Pour the key lime filling into the prepared crust, spreading it evenly.

Bake the Filling
Return the pie to the oven and bake for about 15 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.

Cool the Pie
Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Then refrigerate for at least 3 hours, or until chilled.
Topping Preparation

Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form.

Add Sugar and Zest
Add powdered sugar and lime zest to the whipped cream, and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.

Spread or pipe the whipped cream on top of the chilled key lime pie before serving.
