Main Ingredients

Method

Cooking the Crab

  1. 1

    Prepare the pot

In a large pot, combine 4 cups of water and 2 tablespoons of salt. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Add the crab legs

Once the water is boiling, carefully add 2 lbs of crab legs to the pot. Ensure they are submerged in the water.

  3. 3

    Cook the crab

Cover the pot and let the crab cook for 5-7 minutes or until the shells turn a bright red color. Remove the pot from heat.

  4. 4

    Drain and serve

Using tongs, carefully remove the crab legs from the pot and place them on a serving platter. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Making Drawn Butter

  1. 5

    Melt the butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt 1 cup of unsalted butter until fully liquid.

  2. 6

    Add flavorings

Once melted, stir in 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of minced garlic, and salt to taste.

  3. 7

    Serve

Pour the drawn butter into small serving bowls alongside the crab legs for dipping.
