Preparation

Prep and Fry Wings

1. Dry the wings

Pat the chicken wings dry thoroughly with paper towels to ensure they fry up crispy.

2. Heat oil

In a large heavy-bottomed pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).

3. Fry wings

Fry the wings in batches for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temperature of at least 165°F/74°C).

4. Drain wings

Remove wings from oil and drain on a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate.

Season and Toss

5. Prepare seasoning mix

In a small bowl, combine Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.

6. Toss wings with seasoning

Place hot wings in a large bowl, sprinkle with the seasoning mix, and toss well to coat evenly.

Optional Butter Toss

7. Make butter toss sauce

Mix melted butter with Old Bay seasoning in a small bowl.

8. Toss wings in butter sauce

Drizzle the butter mixture over the seasoned wings and toss to coat for extra flavor.
