Chicken Marinade

Method

Marinate the Chicken

  1. 1

In a bowl, whisk together buttermilk, hot sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

Add chicken thighs to the marinade, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.

Prepare the Breading

  1. 3

In a shallow dish, mix together flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Fry the Chicken

  1. 4

Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

Remove chicken from marinade, letting excess drip off, and coat thoroughly in the flour mixture.

  3. 6

Carefully place breaded chicken into the hot oil and fry for 5–6 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through.

  4. 7

Transfer to a wire rack or paper towel-lined plate to drain.

Assemble the Sliders

  1. 8

Toast slider buns lightly in a skillet or toaster.

  2. 9

Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun.

  3. 10

Place a piece of crispy chicken on each bun, then top with a pickle slice and shredded lettuce.

  4. 11

Cover with the top bun and serve warm.
