Crab Cakes

Slider Assembly

Method

Make the Crab Cakes

  1. 1

    Prepare Crab Mixture

In a large bowl, gently mix together the crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, egg, lemon juice, parsley, green onion, salt, and pepper until combined.

  2. 2

Fold in the panko breadcrumbs gently until the mixture holds together. Avoid overmixing to keep the crab cakes tender.

  3. 3

    Form Crab Cakes

Shape the mixture into 12 small patties, each about 2 inches in diameter. Place them on a lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 20 minutes to help them firm up.

  4. 4

    Cook Crab Cakes

Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the crab cakes in batches for 3–4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

Assemble the Sliders

  1. 5

Toast the slider buns lightly if desired. Spread remoulade or tartar sauce on the bottom half of each bun.

  2. 6

Place a piece of lettuce on each bun, followed by a crab cake, a slice of tomato, and the top bun.

  3. 7

    Serve immediately while warm.
