For the Shrimp Marinade

Method

Preparing the Shrimp Marinade

  1. 1

    Marinate the Shrimp

In a large mixing bowl, combine the peeled and deveined shrimp with lime juice, red or green chile sauce, and salt. Stir well to ensure the shrimp are fully coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, allowing the shrimp to marinate and absorb the flavors.

Assembling the Aguachiles

  1. 2

    Combine Ingredients

Once the shrimp have marinated, remove them from the refrigerator. Add diced avocado, sliced cucumber, thinly sliced red onion, and chopped cilantro to the bowl with the shrimp. Gently fold the ingredients together to combine without mashing the avocado.

  2. 3

    Serve

Transfer the aguachiles to a serving platter. Serve immediately with tortilla chips on the side for dipping.
