Gravy Ingredients
Method
Gravy Preparation
- 1
Cook the Bacon
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove them from the skillet and let them drain on paper towels. Reserve about 1/4 cup of the bacon drippings in the skillet.
- 2
Make the Roux
Sprinkle the all-purpose flour over the reserved bacon drippings in the skillet. Stir continuously for about 2-3 minutes until the flour is golden brown and forms a roux.
- 3
Add Milk
Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook and stir until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
- 4
Season the Gravy
Crumble the cooked bacon back into the gravy. Season with black pepper and salt to taste. Stir well to combine.
- 5
Serve
Once the gravy is thick and creamy, remove it from heat and serve hot. Enjoy as a side with biscuits, potatoes, or your favorite breakfast items.
