Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tomatoes

Preheat a grill or grill pan over high heat. Toss the cherry tomatoes with a tablespoon of olive oil and a pinch of sea salt. Grill the tomatoes for 3-5 minutes until they are charred and blistered, turning occasionally. Remove from heat and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Tuna

While the tomatoes are grilling, slice the fresh tuna into thin sashimi-style slices. Arrange them on a serving plate.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Orange

Peel and segment the navel orange, removing any seeds and the white pith. Arrange the orange segments over the tuna.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Kale

In a mixing bowl, massage the kale with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil, lemon juice, sea salt, and black pepper until the leaves are tender. Scatter the kale over the tuna and orange.

  5. 5

    Finish and Serve

Top the dish with the charred tomatoes and any fresh herbs of your choice. Drizzle with additional olive oil if desired. Serve immediately.
