1. Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tagliolini and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
2. Prepare the Sauce
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Add Tomatoes and Shrimp
Add the halved cherry tomatoes and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they start to soften. Then add the shrimp, saffron threads, and Calabrian chili paste. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
4. Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked tagliolini to the skillet and toss to combine. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
5. Season and Serve
