Method

Prepare the Dough

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

  2. 2

    Mix the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Assemble and Bake

  1. 5

    Prepare the Baking Sheet

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking sheet with olive oil.

  2. 6

    Shape the Dough

Once risen, punch down the dough and transfer it to the greased baking sheet. Stretch and press it out to fit the sheet, about 1-inch thick.

  3. 7

    Add Toppings

Dimple the surface of the dough with your fingers. Top with halved cherry tomatoes, anchovy fillets, rosemary, coarse sea salt, and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil.

  4. 8

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.

  5. 9

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, then cut into squares and serve warm.
