Cooking Pasta

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt.

Cook Pasta
Add 400g of pasta to the boiling water. Cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Making Sauce

Heat Oil
In a large skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

Sauté Garlic
Add 4 minced garlic cloves to the skillet and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Add Spices
Stir in 1 teaspoon of red chili flakes, and cook for another 30 seconds.

Add Tomatoes
Pour in 800g of canned crushed tomatoes. Stir to combine.

Season Sauce
Add 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Stir well and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Finish Sauce
Stir in 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh basil and remove from heat.
Combining

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained pasta to the sauce in the skillet. Toss well to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

Serve
Plate the pasta and sprinkle with 50g of grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
