Pasta Preparation

Cook the Lasagna Noodles
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes.

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add Milk and Seasoning
Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Cook, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Add nutmeg and salt to taste.
Assembly and Baking

Layer the Lasagna
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). In a baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce, followed by a layer of noodles, a layer of béchamel sauce, and a layer of mozzarella cheese. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with béchamel and mozzarella on top.

Top with Parmesan
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top layer.

Bake the Lasagna
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.

Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
