Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Coffee
Brew 1 cup of strong espresso coffee. Allow it to cool slightly, and if desired, stir in coffee liqueur for added flavor.
- 2
Mix the Mascarpone Filling
In a large mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- 3
Whip the Heavy Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
Assembly
- 4
Dip the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso for about 1-2 seconds, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- 5
Layer the Dessert
In a 9x13 inch dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- 6
Repeat Layers
Add another layer of the remaining soaked ladyfingers on top, followed by the rest of the mascarpone mixture.
- 7
Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to let the flavors meld.
Finishing Touch
- 8
Dust with Cocoa Powder
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
- 9
Serve
Cut into squares and serve cold. Enjoy your homemade tiramisu!
