Prepare the Zucchini
Wash the zucchinis under running water. Cut off the ends and slice them into thin rounds, about 1/4 inch thick.

Mince the Garlic
Peel the garlic cloves and mince them finely using a knife or garlic press.

Heat the Olive Oil
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.

Season the Zucchini
Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and dried basil over the zucchini. Stir to combine all the ingredients.

Cook the Zucchini
Sauté the zucchini for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and lightly browned.

Add Marinara Sauce (Optional)
If desired, pour the marinara sauce over the sautéed zucchini. Stir to combine and heat through for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Remove from heat and serve warm as a side dish or over pasta as a main dish.
