Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Zucchini

Wash the zucchinis under running water. Cut off the ends and slice them into thin rounds, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Mince the Garlic

Peel the garlic cloves and mince them finely using a knife or garlic press.

  3. 3

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.

  4. 4

    Sauté the Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant but not browned.

  5. 5

    Add the Zucchini

Add the sliced zucchini to the skillet. Stir well to coat with the garlic and oil.

  6. 6

    Season the Zucchini

Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and dried basil over the zucchini. Stir to combine all the ingredients.

  7. 7

    Cook the Zucchini

Sauté the zucchini for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and lightly browned.

  8. 8

    Add Marinara Sauce (Optional)

If desired, pour the marinara sauce over the sautéed zucchini. Stir to combine and heat through for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  9. 9

    Serve

Remove from heat and serve warm as a side dish or over pasta as a main dish.
