Main Ingredients

Alfredo Sauce

Method

Preparing the Pasta and Broccoli

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettucini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Blanch the Broccoli

In the same pot of boiling water, add the broccoli florets. Blanch for about 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender but still crisp. Drain and set aside with the pasta.

Cooking the Shrimp

  1. 3

    Sauté the Shrimp

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the jumbo shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are pink and opaque. Remove from heat and set aside.

Making the Alfredo Sauce

  1. 4

    Prepare the Sauce Base

In the same skillet used for the shrimp, add the remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté over medium heat until the garlic is fragrant, about 1 minute.

  2. 5

    Add Cream and Cheese

Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Gradually stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg.

Combining Everything

  1. 6

    Mix the Ingredients

Add the cooked pasta, broccoli, and sautéed shrimp to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss gently to combine, ensuring everything is well coated with the sauce.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and freshly cracked black pepper if desired.
