Method

Bread

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix the Ingredients

Add the olive oil, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Bake the Bread

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Shape the risen dough into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Sausage and Peppers

  1. 6

    Cook the Sausage

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage until browned and cooked through. Remove and slice into pieces.

  2. 7

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add olive oil, sliced onion, and minced garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Add sliced bell peppers, salt, and black pepper, and cook until peppers are soft.

  3. 8

    Combine the Ingredients

Add the sliced sausage back to the skillet with the cooked peppers and onions. Stir to combine and heat through for a few minutes.

House Side Salad

  1. 9

    Prepare the Salad

In a large bowl, combine mixed greens, halved cherry tomatoes, and sliced cucumber.

  2. 10

    Make the Dressing

In a small jar, mix olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Shake well to combine.

  3. 11

    Serve the Salad

Drizzle the dressing over the salad just before serving and toss to coat.

Assembly

  1. 12

    Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the baked bread and fill with the sausage and pepper mixture. Serve warm with the house salad on the side.
