Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Rigatoni

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the rigatoni pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Meat Preparation

  1. 2

    Cook the Bacon and Ham

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the bacon and ham. Cook until crispy and golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside, leaving the fat in the pan.

Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Make the Arrabiata Sauce

In the same skillet, add olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add red chili flakes, canned diced tomatoes, salt, black pepper, dried basil, and dried oregano. Stir well and let simmer for 15 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.

Combining Ingredients

  1. 4

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked rigatoni to the sauce in the skillet. Stir well to coat the pasta with the sauce. Add the cooked bacon and ham back into the skillet and mix until combined.

Cheese Incorporation

  1. 5

    Add Cheese

Reduce heat to low and dollop ricotta cheese over the pasta mixture. Tear mozzarella cheese and sprinkle on top. Cover the skillet and let it cook for another 5 minutes until the mozzarella is melted.

Serving

  1. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Remove the skillet from heat. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving. Serve hot and enjoy your Rigatoni Arrabiata!
