Pasta Preparation

Boil Water
In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the water.

Cook Spaghetti
Add the spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.
Marinara Sauce Preparation

Heat Olive Oil
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

Add Tomatoes
Pour in the canned whole tomatoes, breaking them up with a spoon, and stir to combine.

Season Sauce
Add dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar to the sauce. Stir well and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Adjust Seasoning
Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary. You can add more salt, pepper, or sugar to balance the flavors.

Add the drained spaghetti to the marinara sauce and toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
